‘Eenie Meenie’ is the brand new single from reggae-pop supremo Sean Kingston, featuring Usher protégé and teen sensation Justin Bieber.
Taken from Kingston’s forthcoming third album, ‘Eenie Meenie’ is produced by Kesha ‘Tik Tok’ hitmaker Benny Blanco and seamlessly fuses Sean’s trademark island-inflected dance-pop with Bieber’s honeyed r’n’b.
Featuring the famous ‘Eenie Meenie Miny Moe’ rhyme as its refrain, the song was co-written by both Kingston and Bieber and is already chasing the Number One slot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. Sean says of the partnership “I'm kind of like Justin’s big brother. We're starting a writing team together."
Much has happened since 20-year-old Sean Kingston was discovered by US super-producer J. R. Rotem in 2007. Famous for his massive UK hits ‘Beautiful Girls’ and the RedOne produced ‘Fire Burning,’ Sean has sold more than six million singles, more than 4.5 million ringtones and toured with artists such as Gwen Stefani and Chris Brown.
His self-titled debut Sean Kingston went to Number One in 21 countries and sold over one million copies worldwide. With a musical bloodline that includes Jamaican legendary producer Jack Ruby as his grandfather, it’s no wonder Sean has been able to introduce a new genre where rap, reggae, pop, doo-wop and remarkable songwriting all combine into something innovative.
After posting dozens of homemade videos on YouTube, Canadian born Justin Bieber was quickly snapped up by L.A Reid and pop superstar Usher in late 2008. In 2010, 16 year old Justin released his debut album ‘My World 2.0’ which shot straight into the Top Five on both sides of the Atlantic, causing many a teenage palpitation along the way.
