N-Dubz were crowned MOBO royalty last night when they picked up two major awards including the highly sought after 'Best UK Act'.
Tulisa, Dappy and Fazer also won 'Best Album' for their critically acclaimed, 500,000 plus selling debut 'Uncle B'. The trio performed an amazing three times at the ceremony - as a band, with Tinchy Stryder and as part of the War Child collective 'Young Soul Rebels'.
Dappy says: "It was an amazing night and we want to thank all the fans that voted for us. We won Best Newcomer two years ago, so to come back and have this kind of success is just crazy, we are made up."
The last twelve months have been a breakthrough year for N-Dubz, selling over 500,000 albums, completing a critically acclaimed sell out debut UK tour, picking up four MOBO nominations and scoring a No.1 single along the way. The band left Polydor Records in 2008, financing their own single and video, and eventually finding a new home at independent label All Around The World. N-Dubz then issued the smash hit single ‘Ouch’ in October of the same year. With the video receiving over nine million views on YouTube, the song burst from the underground to become the soundtrack to millions of teenagers’ lives. Three further hit singles followed, as well a platinum debut album. N-Dubz followed this success with a sell out UK tour and collaboration with friend and newcomer Tinchy Stryder on the track ‘Number One.’ Living up to its title, the song remained aloft the official singles chart for three weeks and became one of the year’s biggest selling singles.
N-Dubz release their brand new single 'I Need You' on November 9th, followed by their second album on November 16th.
