Kelly Brook

Model, actress, presenter, business woman and pin-up, Kelly Brook has firmly established herself as more than just a pretty face in the country’s psyche and despite being just 30 years old, is coming dangerously close to becoming one of the nation’s true sweethearts.
Born in November 1979, Kelly grew up in Kent before moving to London to study at the Italia Conti stage school. From there, Kelly began her modelling career at 16 after winning a beauty competition that her mother had entered her in. Campaigns for Reebok, Pepsi, Lynx, T-Mobile and Triumph followed and soon the UK print media began to take a keen interest in the voluptuous model.
The teenager quickly became a regular fixture in the massive men’s monthly magazine market, appearing on the covers of GQ, FHM and Loaded, as well as winning FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World and Grazia’s best British female body along the way.
As well as fashion shoots, Kelly soon became one of the UK’s top swimwear and underwear models, culminating with the launch of her own range, which has been carried exclusively by New Look since 2006. At the same time, Kelly’s own posters and calendars have become top sellers and she was one of the first models to own copyright and syndication rights to her images.
As well as modelling, Kelly has also worked extensively in the TV industry both in the UK and the US. Presenting roles in the UK have included C4’s Big Breakfast, ITV’s Love Island, Living’s Dirty Dancing: The Time Of Our Lives and MTV. In addition, Kelly has also had lead roles in ITV’s Miss Marple (2006), ITV’s Moving Wallpaper (2009), Warner Bros hit series, Smallville (2002), as well as starring in BBC1’s hugely popular Strictly Come Dancing, alongside dance partner Brendan Cole (2007).
In tandem with her TV work, Kelly has also worked extensively in theatre and film. Her first theatre role was in 2000’s Eye Contact at the Riverside Studios. From there, Kelly has gone onto to star in Neil LaBute’s Fat Pig in the West End in 2008 and will again be treading the West End boards in late 2009.
Meanwhile, Kelly’s film career also began in 2000 with a minor role in Sorted. After a small appearance in 2003’s The Italian Job, Kelly’s first starring role was in School of Seduction (2004), which won her favourable reviews and lead to further roles in, among others, House of 9 (2005), Three (2005) and Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo with Rob Schneider (2005). 2010 will see the US premiere of the Weinstein Company’s Piranha 3D, which sees Kelly starring alongside Richard Dreyfuss and Elisabeth Shue, as well as the US opening of Shadow Play, alongside Billy Burke.
As well as her modelling, TV, film and theatre work, Kelly has also authored style book Pinning Down The Pin Up (2007), launched her own successful perfume range, Vivacious and released a dance exercise DVD with Strictly Come Dancing’s Flavia Cacace in 2008.
With so many strings to her bow, Kelly Brook is very much more than just a pretty face.
